Wait a minute. The Nissan uses a 3.8 liter V6 to generate about 500 hp. The GT2 uses a 3.6 liter engine to generate 530 hp. The tuner 997 turbos we all read about in the Porsche mags make between 580 and 700 hp. Unless we're looking for normally aspirated horsepower (no real reason) or 800+ hp, the twin turbocharged engines make plenty of horsepower. Yes, a larger displacement 8 would be nice, but it's not why Porsche is losing to Nissan. It's the Nissan's chassis and electronics that are beating Porsche. Simply put, that car can go deeper into a corner and come out of it harder - and make it look easy. Porsche could probably match Nissan in this regard if they really wanted to. The question is, do they really want to.
