I've never been exposed to the practice of hunting big cats with domestic dogs, so I wonder what keeps the dogs alive. A cougar would make short work of a domestic dog.

I'm a city boy these days but that was not always the case. In a former life I lived in a logging town in the middle of nowhere. "Nowhere" is excellent, and I mean excellent sportsmans country. Great hunting and fishing. Many of the guys I know who like to be in the woods......carry a sidearm. The purpose of that tool is self-preservation. I don't know much about men hunting cats, but I do know about cats hunting men. And as with any of those wild creatures, they have the advantage. They have the home field advantage. Firearms make it a fair fight.
