that was something that struck me when I moved to Houston in '93, people just don't get robbed like they do in Cali. In Texas they tend to kill criminals, and a surprising percentage of people are carrying. Right after I got there I saw a story about some old codger who blew away some carjacker who was taking a BMW with an occupied car seat in the back. Lady got back the car and the baby, but there was quite a mess in the front seat. Carjacker's head did not stand up to a .357 too well. Cops interviewed him, let him go and gave his piece back to him after they did their investigation. Just some random little old man who saw what was going on and stopped it.
