Joe...while maybe not the abyss, we certainly are at a cross roads in my opinion. But when someone uses the term "neo-fascist communists" or "neo fascist socialists" in any context, it strikes me as pseudo intellectuallism. Sounds great but its an oxymoron.
The characterization of Islam as evil incarnate and the implication that Christianity is the only true religion is a bit over the top. While I am agnostic, I truly respect and will defend every persons right to worship (or not) in so far as their religion is not being distorted to promote ideaology that is the antithesis if all spirituality.
Now I can agree with some observations...perpetual bondage may be a bit strong, but I understand where he is going but I don't think its impact is limited to the "poor ignorant minorities." Lemmings in bondage to government institutions and dogma rcome from all socio-economic bagkgrounds...whether its socialized medicine or socialized capitalism. THAT, my friend concerns me deeply. Widespread apathy is another serious concern.
I find Tabs' soliloquoy thought provoking but confusing. At one and the same time he attacks conservative causes yet blames problems in our world on liberals. Huh? Does not compute.
I enjoy Tabs' posts and by no means am calling him a pseudo intellectual. While I don't know about his wealth or taste, I find him to be a deep thinker with interesting insight on a variety of complex issues. Its just sometimes the pieces don't geehaw for me. Maybe that's my problem, not Tabs'.
Or it could be the single malt we both enjoy
