RX7 front brakes are probably the easiest to change. I use the claw on the hammer to spread the pistons out before we yank the old pads out all the way. Then the new pads slide in real easy. Then its 2 small rods and a retaining clip an the job is done, I can change out the front pads in about 30 seconds on that car.
So the hammer was used to spread the pads not hammer on anything.
I was barefoot too.
