we did (probably) the same cruise last year. nevermind, mine left from rome. my siblings, and i flew in 2 weeks early, rented a van and drove all over the place. easiest driving ever. the only glitch we had was the toll roads. make sure you pull into the correct lane. some required a prepaid card or something which you will obviously not have. it was fun except for the sister mentioned above. go for it. they drive better than us here, with more courtesy. you will see so many ringneck pheasants alont the highway...cool stuff buddy.
