If the seller isn't willing to take it to an auction or swap meet (Pomona would be the best place to sell) then Hemmings is indeed the best route.

I have bought several project cars through Hemmings and sold a couple restorations through it as well. The swap meet route is nice, as interested parties can inspect the vehicle right there and then. However, alot of times a deal to purchase will only BEGIN at a meet, then finally come to fruition maybe a month later. When it comes time to sell a car I've restored at the shop, I get a much better response at a gathering like World of Wheels just down the road in Indy. Not to mention that to really SELL something in Hemmings will often take 5-8 months of listing it.

As a side note, 14,900 does seem a little high for the average market. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the car is very nice. It looks great in the pictures, and the market out that way may be a little different than here in the Midwest... But in most places I have bought/sold classic cars that price begs anyone interested to glance over it and keep going. Now, if it were a 85-90 point car that is a different story, but with an aftermarket A/C system, and new mufflers (probably not detailed re-productions of the originals) and other non-original subtleties it probably won't fetch that much.

HOWEVER!!! as we all know, a car is only worth what someone will pay for it. Your best bet would be take it to a show/gathering and put "14,900/reasonable offers" on it, someone may snatch it up, at least you will get alot of offers!

Good luck!
