It was actually very windy yesterday, but it died down a little in the afternoon.
Today is is almost perfect, around 79 for a high and just a little breeze. Oh well.
I think that black 911 actually has a turbocharged Buick grand national engine in it and not a V-8. I spoke to the owner for a while at a Pomona swap meet last year. He was claiming 650 hp then, looks like the current 550 is closer to the mark. Still, a very fast car, and an incredible installation. The guy did it right.
We had a very large turn out this year, almost too large for the venue. This this seems to double in size every year.
Great pics Wayne as usual. There are three pics of my car in there, if you can look behind the yellow hard topped boxter you can actually see one of my fenders:-) I don't know if that is an insult or not, must be a counter attack against the SCWDP:-)
As is par for the course, I sold $125 worth of stuff and bought $250 worth. At least the box of parts was lighter on the way home.
That 917-10 has got to be the most intimidating vehicle I have ever seen. It looks meaner and more dangerous that an F-16. too bad I am too tall for it. I wonder how it would do on an autocross course?
As usual there were many incredible cars, several of them were so special that I felt nervous just standing next to them.
About a dozen of us met at a local pizza place afterwards, but most of the vehicles were parts haulers, so only 2 Porsches showed up.
I survived with little more than a bad sunburn and a hang over.
Thanks to everyone involved for making it a very enjoyable day for all of us.
