Hello all,
Long time reader/rare poster here looking for help with an odd clutch problem.
Vehicle is a 1987 911 Carrera with just under 30,000 miles.
Clutch operation and feel is normal with the exception of a click/ping/clunk at the very top of the pedal travel as it is being released.
The pedal must be depressed fully and then let out to make the noise.
It started doing it intermittently last fall, but it shortly thereafter I put the car into hibernation for the winter.
During the first drive after the spring thaw, it didn't exhibit this symptom but since then it has returned.
I got under the car to take a video. I put the camera as close to the noise as I could to get the best sound:

I did some searching through the forum and the closest possibility that came up was
this thread regarding the necessity for the fork/shaft update.
Is this the most likely possibility? Also, it is safe to drive the car in this condition?
Your thoughts are most appreciated.
Thanks!
