Very interesting site.
I agree/disagree with the "homogenized America" comment. What I found from back in my flying days (and I got to stay in some places I'd never even heard of) was that you can always find good or bad anywhere. You have to get out and look for it sometimes, but each area does have something unique to offer.
That said, the "highway exit experience" of traveling cross-country is very, very sterile and boring. From that point of view, every highway exit in America really DOES look like every other highway exit in America. . .
We have become a pretty boring country overall.
