Our area is very nice, adjacent areas are some of the nicest in Wichita, with huge multi-million dollar homes. Drive a few miles W, and you're into one of the worst areas in town. The Wal Mart nearest to my home is also the nearest to the ghetto. We shop at Target.

Seriously though, it can be a bit scary. I'd never let my wife go at night, despite the old lady driving the Chevy Aveo around the lot with a yellow blinking light and the "Security" sticker. Otherwise you get the usual joys: packed isles, people with no shoes, crowds of Mexicans speaking spanish, long lines, and no customer service. About the only reason I go is for auto stuff, like the cheap 5 qt bottles of Mobil 1. The next closest store is further from the ghetto, and much better (but still not nice).
