Dave you have just made a damn good deal!

If even just two of the wheels are servicable you should be ahead.

As for the tach - its probably been replaced with a second hand one from an S at some point. The maximum engine speeds for the 1973 T, E, and S models are:

T = 6500
E = 7100
S = 7300

One way of checking the engine is to look at the finned cylinder barrels - On Ts they are made of cast iron which rusts in about 2 minutes. E and S models are made of alloy. If the engine has been seriously uprated then its cast iron barrels should have been replaced with alloy ones...

To repeat - good deal, you should be very happy, no matter what!
