It depends on the stereo in the car. Does it have a 1/8" line in jack? If so, then just about any cheap personal recorder will do - most if not all will have headphone jack, so you just need either an adaptor or a male-to-male 1/8" cable. If there's no line in jack on the car stereo, you're a bit more limited. You can get a recorder and then buy an FM broadcaster, but that's going to be more expensive. There are also portable CD recorders available, so you can record and burn direct to CD, then play the CD back in the car.
