That doesn't bother me so much, if it was out to the curb as garbage and the "recyclers" didn't leave it as a huge mess. Spring cleanup is big business for some folks... You should see them fight over aluminum BBQ tops

Last year I was at the scrapyard one day and two young guys had several milk crates of copper wire -HEAVY duty stuff- that they were trying to unload.

"where did it come from?"
"Um, some guy sold it to us for $20"

yeah right

But those plaques... somewhere along the way, they are being bought by someone who knows what they are, and knows better. The scrap dealer that buys them is just as guilty of public mischief/vandalism as the guys who pried them off.
