By accident I seem to have started collecting watches a few months back but so far only have battery ones. Those include an Accutron Telluride, Skagen, Invicta, and a few others.
An earlier thread here made me decide that I needed to have at least one mechanical variant so I started trying to find something nice and not fancy or expensive.
I finally decided on the
Vostok Europe K3 Submarine. overstock.com has them pretty cheap right now and reviews of Vostok Europe from multiple locations seem pretty positive.
Interestingly enough... The stock photo above and the Overstock web site show that it is a 31 jewel movement, but mine states 32? The stock photo also shows serial# XXX/999 whereas mine is XXXX/3000. They are slightly different in color with my base and clasp being silver instead of dark gray... Perhaps they changed the model slightly and didn't update the photo?
Anyway, I don't feel I can give an educated review yet, but it look great on front and back, has good weight and I really like it so far. I'm not crazy about the strap (this white stripe is really bright and kind of detracts from the watch) but it isn't a big deal. And, since I don't have a watch winder yet, I guess I'll just have to wear it every day
This does of course mean I'll likely be getting more automatics down the road... But since I'm down to only 1 Porsche, I think I can afford that...
