Hi Joe,
Thanks for the research. Always learning . . . . .
Of course, the cynical part of me must ask, "Why now?" Why, after how many years of fuel cells being a part of the racing scene, is it suddenly necessary to scrutineer them? What exactly is magic about 2009?
Could it be that Robert's ethanol is catching up with us?
And to be perfectly clear on the subject, we are big advocates of inspecting EVERYTHING, and of replacing anything which even looks suspicious; or has used up its time-life regardless of looks. We are equally passionate (in the reverse) about being told that our harness is junk just because it was manufactured 5 years ago.
John Cramer doesn't just add something to his cell, he takes it apart and INSPECTS it. He's confident that all is OK, but he will not be able to race with NASA. Why? Because of a date (or lack thereof)? In contrast, Chad TECHNICALLY WILL (would) be able to run with the flap disintegrating because his cell is (was) new. Naturally, Chad would never entertain such a thing, but you get the idea.
Ed
