Bah, that's nothing. You guys need to dig to get The Rest of the Story (as Paul Harvey would say). The real patch was made out of an iron plate purchased from a foundry owned by the brother in law of a local city council member at 18 times the retail cost (with payoffs to the councilmember's brother in law) and supplied at half the dimensions required in the specs, two years later than the contract called for. That patch was promptly stolen for its scrap value and the thieves patched the hole with empty beer cans smashed together and stuffed in the wall. That patch was then stolen by bums collecting aluminum cans and they left the newspaper in its place. The newspaper wasn't stolen because the paint hid it from view.
