We're going trillions into debt to China, our kids are dying in a lost cause in Iraq, the bad guys are emboldened (not just Al Queda but also Iran, Syria and North Korea), the economy is in the tank, transportation infrastructure is going to heck, jobs are being lost, unemployment rising, inflation rising, housing crisis......and you're focused on a story you heard about somebody smacking a wheelchair person. You weren't there, I assume.
