And then there's this ongoing tendency for people to talk their religion here. So, let's try this:

Should I be destined for Hell, I shall burn according to what people say. I leave the current world as a soul, no tangibles, nothing physical. How am I supposed to feel any discomfort with no body? how am I supposed to see anything alarming?

No, I'm serious. People like Witnesses portray heaven as souls fluttering around in paradise with all the animals getting along; no one eating anyone else. The opposite has to be what they think of for heathens.

Explain to me the pain and sorrow I will suffer if I don't make it.

Oh, and I guess I get to leave all this grease under my fingernails behind either way. How can it be all that bad?
Couple things wrong with what you've written so far. First, you said "there's this ongoing tendency for people to talk their religion here". Nope, people tend to defend their religious beliefs after non-believers attack their religion. Guess they are threatened by it so they have to lash out and try to discredit it, must make them feel better or something.
If the little-kid non-believers weren't so insecure there would be very little discussion of religion on this forum. (no intended reference to this thread, this is a legitimate inquiry.)

As Cgarr said, hell is the absence of god's presence, or being isolated from him.
Take my word for it, God's presence in the afterlife in not something you want to be without. BTDT.
We are not supposed to understand exactly what the kingdom of God is all about but we are supposed to know how to end up there. It isn't that hard.
