You need to really read things more carefully. The operative word is "EVEN" Of course the ending of the conflict is preferable, however if both parties refuses to settle the matter, do you really think the USA wouldn't use even the slight advantage it gets from a continuation.
Also if it were so important of a matter to the USA there would be alot more pressure put on the partyys to settle. What comes to mind is the Egyptian- Israelie peace accord. That for all intents and purpopses another nation state war that could have disrupted world peace back in the 1970's was permanently put to rest...that was important for the US to happen so it happened...get my drift?
why hasn't there been the hugh amount of pressure put on the partys on this matter?
I am waiting for U....to make that comment again....
