I've decided to sell my 2.0 '73 GA engine complete vs. making a repair or tearing it apart to "see what happened" this weekend. I posted a topic a few days ago "2.0L knocking" which describes what happened while out for a spin. Since I'm putting together a Renegade v8 conversion, I will not invest the time/money to fix what is wrong with my motor and will sell it as a complete package. Would prefer to have it picked up.....don't want to deal with packaging and shipment. This is what I've got:

Original '73 engine out of my 914 that was rebuilt a few years ago (receipts available) Crank did not require turning but was polished. Outfitted with dual Dellorto carbs and the proper carb cam was installed during rebuild. Heads were rebuilt to factory specs. Pistons/liners were replaced (stock size) but upgraded to euro. spec.

Engine comes complete as pulled from car.....heat exchangers (good condition), muffler (custom with 4 chrome tips which exit in center of rear valance), clutch, pressure plate...both replaced during rebuild and in excellent condition. Alternator, starter, all engine tin, distributor and Crane Fireball XR 3000 electronic ignition.

I have no idea what the source of knock is but did pull the valve covers and see no damage there. No cracks or holes in block and engine is very clean.

Price is $500 firm or trade for items needed for v8 conversion......5 lug conversion pieces, 5 lug porsche wheels, 915 or 930 trans. Located in Augusta, Ga. I've got a few pics taken last month with engine in car that I can forward to anyone interested. This email address will be good until the end of Feb. when Comcast makes yet another change to system.
