I've got the Jacobs 8.5 mm wires in my 924 and 944. Work pretty well. You may want to remove the intake boot that connects to the throttle body and inspect the throttle body for build-up. Grab some intake/injector cleaner and spend some time spraying it down and wiping it out. I did this with my 944. It had so much build-up that when I was all finished and restarted the car, the idle had gone up 700-1000 rpm. There was a lot of restriction where the butterfly comes in close contact with the body when its closed.
