Dan - on my 92 C2 I first removed the secondary muffler and installed a G-pipe and it sounded good. Then I installed a cat bypass with the removed secondary muffler - it had a nice note but was just too loud sometimes. I reinstalled the secondary and now have nice grumble - having said that, I really don't like running the cat bypass due to environmental reasons so this weekend I'm going back to stock cat with a secondary G-pipe. When I get around to it, I'm looking into a 100-200 cell cat to see if that gives me the sound and performance w/o violating emissions.

PS - you shouldn't be hearing exhaust notes from the drivers side - make sure you haven't rusted through.
