You say you had it running on the carbs? Running for a few seconds could be gas starvation. I'd be tempted to drain and clean the tank, new filters, new gas and see if you can fire it up. Get it running, take it out for a "Porsche tuneup" and get the cobwebs blown out, and then make a decision...
