Cool. I just watched the first show of Season 1 - brought back some long lost memories.
Some fiery wrecks, Pops getting threatened with a gun and punched out are not the kind of things you would see in today's cartoons!
I never knew that Speed's "G" on his shirt stands for "Greg" as in Greg Racer from the original comic book; Trixie's name was Michi Shimura, hence her "M" on her shirt. I learned this for the first time tonight from Wikipedia:
