Perhaps the wine is 'too young' and needs to lay down for a couple of years. Agree, it may also need to 'breathe' a bit. Personally, I like to find the good wines in the 20 dollar or less price range. With the exception of "The Prisoner", I rarely spend over 30 bucks. Many expensive wines are expensive due to limited release, success of prior vintages, or snobbery
