The description stating that "the car was poised to win the race" seems more than a bit presumptuous, considering it never turned a wheel at the Brickyard.
And after you've spent your $550K, what would you possibly do with this thing, other than as a static display, as was the case at RRIII?
The mechanicals are described as "wonderfully preserved", which means you'd likely be in for another $100K minimum for refurbishment of a 28 year old unrestored race car before you'd be able to drive it anywhere.
A very odd duck. Other than the footnote factor, I don't see the attraction.
