Yuma is too far from the major college, pro teams and cultural trappings of Phoenix that the wife and I enjoy.
This is for retirement. I won't be needing employment. We already have a summer home here in Washington that we will use from around June through October or so.
We enjoy warm weather but not burning my a$$ up or having to run from the car to the house.
