Give me a break, trekkor. You already passed me and my '89 325is in your Escort a few weeks ago at Thunderhill (as did Don, in his 964), and now you want to take it to the next level?

Seriously, E30's are incredibly fun track cars. Not fast, but extremely well balanced. The semi-trailing arm rear suspension makes lift throttle oversteer interesting, but not to the same level as a 911.

After the day at T-Hill, I've been looking more and more at the Spec E30 series. I figure it might be a way to go racing for a bit less money than it will take to get my '72T on the track.

For $1500, you probably can't go wrong. Do the timing belt ASAP, replace the C/A bushings, guibo, rear shock mounts, and have fun.

I've owned and tracked my car for a number of years now (never competitively), but I've learned a thing or two. Feel free to send me a PM.

Any updates on the 914?

Jim
