back packs get real irritating after a couple hours. get a tail bag. or just mail your kit to your dad's house.
i have the old camel hump tail. and can fit a quart of oil, map, cel phone, tool roll, aspirin, and sketchbook. otherwise, all i need is a credit card to buy socks and underwear along the way.
