"Isn't somebody going to mention the Leatt-Brace neck gizmo that was all the lemming-rage last year, from South Africa with a Nevada liability-avoidance corporate registration and some other corporate aspects that seemed to me to have a bad smell. Might be good but I'd like to see some test results if anybody can point to them."

lemming-rage? yep, those riders and parents are SOooo stupid they rush out to buy every piece of protective gear they can get. silly, silly lemmings.

i have one, i wear it. almost all the pros in motocross racing are wearing them now. so are most amateurs.
the nevada importer is in nevada because that's where he was born and raised. it's not a liability avoidance, it's where he lives. no smoking gun.
if you want to avoid liability, go to florida. the state attorney general has no balls and doesn't seem to mind crooks living there.
the only litigation i've seen regarding leatt so far is the leatt guys stopping others from copying the design. they've won every case so far.

thousands of leatt braces have been sold, lots of riders swear by them, won't ride without them.
as far as test results, i'm not sure how that would work. beyond the medical information on numerous websites, and testimonials from riders involved in bad crashes, would you like us to lawn-dart some kids into the ground, break their neck, then do again with the brace to prove it works?
neck injuries are down this year across the board, in both amateur and pro mx racing. i doubt it's a fluke.

if you want a bad smell, liability potential and just plain poor design, go back and search this board for the highly dangerous throttle cruise control someone built and showed off. he went by the name "ben".
do you know him "peter parts"?
