Haven't done much of this for over 20 years, but I read something from the wet coast about how much of the pot for sale these days is actually very poor quality hygro that has been sprayed with something to make it more potent and sale able..
Really that is the problem, you just don't know what you are getting unless you do it yourself.
Another thing is the type of fertilizers used, are they fit for human consumption, ie food crops?
It is safer to "just say no", or maybe "stay home and grow"...
