Pie
Just had a big piece of the best damn cherry pie I ever tasted. Mom has that crust thing pretty much figured out. How about favorite pie quiz? Never went for cake or candy much, but pie, that is a different story. Did not think a poll would work. My favorite is anything but mincemeat, I'm serial.
Reason they even have cherries at all is because Dad planted a couple of sticks he brought back in a golf bag from Nebraska when he was visiting his brother. Three years later he has three 15 foot tall cherry trees loaded with fruit. Apparently if you hang various shiny mylar strips in your trees, it makes birds think the thing is on fire, so they leave the cherries alone.
Criminal that they cut down those orchards and hop fields and built houses in my parents neighborhood. It is the best soil I have ever seen for growing stuff, peaches as big as your freakin' head.
