Hey Todd,

This is the 1984 928S I referred to in the "favorite 928 interior of all time" thread we had a while ago! The Can Can red and black "leather cocoon" interior is the most amazing interior I have ever seen in a 928 and is in nice shape as the car has been in Wisconsin most of its life (i.e. no scorching sun to dry the leather out). I also like that this is a sunroof delete car.

Sadly, my test drive of this car revealed that it was a study in deferred maintenance and had many "needs" including a rattling torque tube, a broken odometer gear, a strong smell of burning oil, corrosion under the rear quarter windows, a broken off front spoiler, gaudy gold painted pinstripping, a tail light that wasn't secured in place, and the car hadn't had a t-belt change since the water pump failed in the early 90's. The long-time owner had no maintenance records on the car and left me the impression that the car only got serviced when something broke (i.e. no preventative maintenance outside of oil changes). The long-time owner also told me he bought it at a gov't auction (i.e. was someone's seized property).

As much as I fell in love with this car's interior and unique features, I came to the conclusion that buying it would likely be "financial suicide", which may be why the car is on to its third owner during the past year
