if he made those gaffes, then it is bad (I'm certainly not going to waste my time chasing them down). But not unexpected. The real issue though is relative. They all say stupid things. It almost comes down to who makes the least egregious ones.

What was refreshing imho was that he actually admitted in public that he didn't know the details of the Hanford clean-up. I wish more people would do that. The fact that he voted on a bill that included aspects of it is indeed troubling, but sadly, is more an indictment of the process and "business as usual" in our govt. Legislation is often written in such a convoluted manner, and the addition of unrelated amendments and whatnot make it almost impossible for things to get done in an organized fashion.

The fact is that there is too much stuff for any one person to keep track of. The POTUS should be a vision person who cleans up nice and represent the country abroad with dignity. We are truly in a global economy and on a global stage. Image and appearances are important.

And no doubt some lefty blog has compiled a list of McCain gaffes as well (there was the sunni/shiite one awhile back that got some play). Frankly they are all getting a pass, and instead people focus on the silly aspects rather than the meat.

Malkin makes me kind of throw up a little in my mouth. She looks good but when she opens her mouth I get sick from her vitriol. She really is a Coulter-wanna-be.
