Conventional wisdom is that VP selections do nothing to the ticket, with the apparent exception of George H. W. Bush in 1992 when Dan Quayle had a measurable drag on the ticket. I've heard the drag wasbetween one and two percent. I believe that, but think that underestimated the synergistic effect of Quayle looking inept had on Bush looking out of touch. I think Liberman had an impact on the Gore ticket, but I haven't seen polling to back me up. I suspect that neither's VP selection will end up having any measurable effect.
