I tend to put in the clutch or shift to neutral rolling down hills or approaching a stop.
In a car with variable valve timing, it makes a pretty big difference in fuel economy if you can keep the RPM's low.
In my Acura, if I drive like I like to drive, I get about 23 mpg around town, it is a hoot when you get on the big lobes of the cam, makes a great sound and will move it out pretty well. If I drive with an eye on fuel economy, I get about 30.
