McCain is very much hated by the conservative wing of his party. He has worked with and sided with Democrats on numerous issues. If McCain picks Lieberman for a running mate, then that will probably just solidify the election.

Very true... but his campaign posturing over the past several months doesn't reflect that. Rather than having the republican base fall in line behind McCain, he seems to have too easily fallen in line behind the republican base.
