might be. DK their history, but frames have been made overseas for a long time, and crappy US-made frames have been around for years as well. To me it isn't that big of a buying point unless you want to flip it and think you can find some bike geek who gives a crap.
I won't own an aluminum frame bike, but that is a personal bias. You certainly can get a lighter/stiffer frame that way.
