I've only been that strapped once, back in my late 20's. I took on a second job temporarily.
After about 5 months of that i found a better paying day job so I could give up the second one. Turned out to be a very lucrative move.

If I want it, I earn it or do without.

I know what you mean about having politicians always trying to take my paycheck tho, I've already paid more taxes so far this year than I earned 10 years ago.
