I've done some bone-head moves when working on cars . Just this last week I was having trouble starting the threads on a 7 series BMW fan clutch to water-pump so I held the fan and had someone start the car . Has worked many times for me in the past ( have large hands ) but promptly cross-threaded the threads on the water pump .
5 minutes with a thread file and all was fine .
And like almost all pelicans here I can read . ( I did say almost )
Maybe I have too much pride but if I were that stupid I wouldn't post it for the whole world to see .

lol, it took me a while though before i realized what was going on with my car. Because of this stupid mistake i put in an order for pistons and rods, new lifters, valve springs, i'm polishing heads, and a couple of other small goodies.
