Very cool.
I have to agree, "sound" is different than "musical ability" or technical skill. I've always had a good ear for tuning and getting the nuances of the sound right, but I suck at the playing. Just never had the time to sit down and get into "suicide mode" with respect to doing scales and learning how all those notes/scales fit together, and developing good, precise technical chops.
I'm working towards getting a couple of major time-suckers out of my life right now (building a business and solidifying our family future - where we want to live, etc.) Once that's all resolved in a couple of years I might have some time (hopefully) to dust off the gear and sit down and play again.
But right now my Fender Strat and Fender Twin sit in my closet. . .
