With all this talk (between the political and religious rants) of some of us trying to improve our diets, get more exercise cutting back or off the alcohol got me thinking.
For me by far bicycling is my favorite... I don't do it nearly enough but nothing more fun than cruising the bike path, getting some fresh air, and checking out the lady joggers. Between doing that and using the stairs at work my lower body is in pretty good shape.
So I would like to firm up my upper body a little (not going for Mr Olympia here)
I have been trained old school with free weights and the logical side of my brain says if I pick up a bench and a couple of dumbbells and work out three nights a week that would be cheap, easy, and get me where I want to be physically, a little stronger/firmer in the upper body.
However the gadget-boy in me sees the neato machines on TV with the ripped guys and gals smiling and pointing at it saying "only twenty minutes a few times a week". I also know these things can be picked up cheap because so many people buy them and then they end up in a garage sale or on craigslist.
I suspect most of you will vote for free weights but I was curious if anyone was using an exercise machine and liked it... or do they all end up a cloths hangers?
