How do I know the kid was a hippie? Because it was like looking in a mirror of myself ten years ago...
Now I sign the petition for the Green Party candidates every time they come around. I disagree with just about everything that that party stands for, but I believe they absolutely have the right to be on the ballot.
Unfortunately Illinois law is designed to place undue burdens on third parties. The requirements for signatures are much higher for "non-established parties". Also, anyone who signs a petition for one party's candidate(s) with have their votes discarded if they vote in another party's primary.
