Mac Office is not an off brand. It IS MS Office. Don't forget that Office for Mac is the original product, MS Office came after
The Open Source alternatives are generally considered to be 100% compatible but in reality nothing ever is.
Had a really severe f'up wit a developer that was using Open Office. Tracking changes did come over properly and we lost months of running changes to some documentation.
