Talking All is not yet lost!

Actually, it's not as bad as it may sound per their web site; and I'm one of the people who was b****in and moaning a few weeks ago.

1) F1 Practice starts tonight on SpeedChannel at 11:00 PM eastern. Rick DeBruhl and (724doorE take note) David Hobbs are the commentators along with Steve Matchet ( ) and Peter Windsor in the pits. DeBruhl has been compitent enough in the past and the others did F1 over the last couple years. (http://www.speedvision.com/auto/?lvl=3a&cat=17&id=337) Sounds good enough to me.

2) They will be carrying the season including practice and qualifying. A couple of races will be broadcast on a tape delayed basis. I think Monaco, Canada and US. I suspect that the US race may be on a network again and then with an enhanced rebroadcast on SpeedChannel with extra incars shots, etc. like last year. I don't know about anyone else, but I really didn't like ABC's "dummied down" coverage last year.

3) They will also be carrying sports cars this weekend from Homestead and 3 days of FIA World Rally. Finally they also will be carrying CART later this month.

4) NASCAR's races now move to FOX for the rest of the year.

5) Regarding PBS911's bad experience, Speedvision/Channel has always been focused on bikes on Tuesdays. Wednesday has always been boat day. Nothing new there.

Someone highlighted last weeks Speedchannel poll on this site last week. Well the results are in: almost 25K people responded and about 1/3 felt that winning the GP du Monaco would be the biggest thing (http://www.speedvision.com/auto/?lvl=3a&cat=27&id=329). 25K is a lot more then the 6k touted on the petition. Keep in mind that their broadcast base is 50M households.

Life may not be so bad after all!
