AL Gore is an Idiot...
Al Gore during Vietnam wanted to go to Canada, but his Daddy was a Senator from Tennesse and told AL that it wouldn't look good for a Senators son to take a powder to avoid military service..especially when your Daddy is part of the Party that brought you the Vietnam war in the first place... LBJ escalated the thing ya remember....
One other thingy.... President Eisenhower kept a lid on Military spending during his terms in office...he used Nuclear weapons as the main deterence for aggression. It was JFK who REALLY STARTED the heavy military spending on conventional forces...so that he would not be seen as being soft on communism...also not being hep to the ways of the miltary as IKE was JFK was more easily bambozzled by the MIC...till we come to today...
