Just sit tight and watch the collapse. It's pretty much inevitable at this point and all one can do is position themselves so that they won't personally be any more affected by it than necessary. Pay down/carry little debt, stock up on provisions/ammo and be ready to survive for months in a lawless society, 'cause I think that's where we're headed.

Might not be next month, next year or even next decade, but it's coming. The U.S. is in decline much like the Roman Empire was for a long time. Unsustainable excess, expectations of greatness and unwillingness on the part of citizens to earn it, delusions of grandeur, corruption in politics, etc. Many parallels.

Almost 10% of the current budget (which is hugely unbalanced, BTW) is to pay off interest on the current national debt - TODAY. You guys think this is going to decrease anytime soon? Wait until someone gets the idea that "gee whiz, a war would be really great right now" next time. There will go another few trillion dollars. Where we are today is insane and madness. It can and WILL lead to our ruin. I see no way we can dig ourselves out of the hole we're in.
