If the key action feels "weird" then the ignition switch is faulty. It can get to the stage of being able to remove the key with the engine running.
There may be other problems, best thing is to have the vehicle checked on a PST2 or Piwis tester as you can spend many happy hours " guessing" and not finding the fault(s).
