I would doubt you could just order the ring. I would have to assume it comes as one piece with the cap, but I could be wrong. I think steve911 was trying to tell you to carefully remove the ring from the junk cap and then try and snap it onto the good one. To ease it on, you could probably pinch the posts a little bit to make them skinny enough to mount the ring. Once it's on and over them, carefully flatten the tops of the three posts to secure the ring onto the good cap.
How do you get the ring off of the old cap? The same way. Pinch the three posts until they're skinny enough to slide the old ring off. There ya' go. Steve911, correct me if I'm wrong here. I'm sure you might have a better solution......
